Sport & Spinal Physio taking eggs to the head for Lifeline Canberra

Well the tomato throwing never quite got off the ground. Apparently it had not been hot enough lately and so most of the tomatoes had remained fresh. There simply wasn’t any rotten tomatoes around and my local supermarket didn’t really want to let go of their fresh tomatoes.

Nonetheless I was able to score 10 cartons of eggs. So it was going to be egg throwing all by istelf. Angry Anderson, a great ambassador for charity work was on hand to help raise funds for Lifeline Canberra. His comment was that the eggs would be good for my hair. “Not that I would know anything about what is good for my hair” he said.

Check out the Youtube video to see how the egg throwing went down.

In the end Sport & Spinal Physiotherapy Gungahlin and Canberra City West, raised over $1200 for much needed funds for Lifeline Canberra. It took me about 90 minutes to raise the required $1000 bail money. Thanks to all those who donated funds to this worthwhile cause including:
– past and present team members from Sport & Spinal Physiotherapy Gungahlin
– some of my old Uni buddies from Sydney University
– some of my old school mates from St Josephs College, Hunters Hill
– family friends in Canberra
– my accountant at Bonsella Business Solutions
– Gungahlin General Practice

It recently hit home for me how hard depression affects our community. The recent deaths of the actor and comedian, Robin Williams , as well as local Canberra identity and past World Triathlon Champion, Jackie Fairweather (nee Gallagher), who both took their own lives, just goes to show that even successful people with the world at their feet can suffer from depression. This is where Lifeline can help by offering support to people who are going through hard times and suffering from low mood.

If you are suffering from depression and need to chat to someone, please contact Lifeline Canberra on 13 11 44.

On average, one person dies every 10 days in the ACT from suicide. Lets help save the next life …
